RADIO emerged from a sea of dreams in very much the same way as werewolves evolved from dogs, and unicorns from dinosaurs. Looking back, it all started in 1988 when a young girl and a young boy, living worlds apart, watched Cocktail for the very first time. Both were greatly affected by the documentary and knew from that point on that they’d one day have a place of their own. But since being a bartender is looked down upon by family, friends, and business graduates, their dreams were immediately smothered. The girl went off to be a private detective and the boy found a decent living surfing on the professional circuit. Or so the story goes. Then the economy crashed. With both the gum shoe racket and surf scene taking heavy losses the two found themselves working side by side in a little bar in Somerville, MA. Over a shift drink Radio was born.
